The Student Therapeutic Day School Serves
  • students aged six through 21
  • students with severe and profound disabilities and autism

  • Certified therapists, teachers and paraprofessionals
  • One to one certified paraprofessional to provide guidance and direction throughout the school day

  • Individualized behavior plans (BIP’s) when needed
  • Consistency and structure 
  • Focus on maximum independence
  • Integration of community resources that promote social and educational opportunities
  • Functional academic approach
Therapy Services Special Programs
The student program is a minimum of 176 days for 5 ½ hours per day during the regular school year. The summer program is a minimum of 120 hours of instruction.

Students enrolled in the program are referred by their local school districts. Tuition reimbursement and transportation are the responsibility of the referring district. All placements conform to the applicable requirements of the IL 23 Administrative Code and to Section 14 of the Illinois School Code. New Horizon Center for the Developmentally Disabled is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education.
