Celebrating National Friendship Day at New Horizon Center
June 8th marked a special day at New Horizon Center as we celebrated National Friendship Day while also kicking off our Extended School Year (ESY) program.
The start of ESY brought exciting opportunities for students to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new friends, and build relationships with new teachers. We were also thrilled to welcome several new students to our school community. From the moment they walked through our doors, students were greeted with warmth, encouragement, and opportunities to make meaningful connections.
Throughout the day, students participated in friendship-themed activities that promoted teamwork, communication, and kindness. Whether sharing compliments, or engaging in collaborative games, students learned more about what it means to be a good friend and supportive classmate.
At New Horizon Center, friendships are an important part of helping students feel connected, confident, and successful. National Friendship Day provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate the qualities that make our school community so special—kindness, respect, empathy, and inclusion.
As we begin another Extended School Year together, we are excited to see new friendships grow, new experiences unfold, and our students continue to thrive in a welcoming and supportive environment.
We are grateful to our students and staff for making the first day of ESY and our National Friendship Day celebration such a success. Welcome to all of our new students—we are so happy you're here!
Happy National Friendship Day from everyone at New Horizon Center! 💙🌟
